Bio

Stephen Kline graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1979.  Mr. Kline began his legal career clerking for the Honorable Clarence A. Brimmer, United States District Court, District of Wyoming from 1979-1981.  He formed his practice in December of 1981, and the practice now known as Kline, McCorkle & Pilger has existed since that date.

Over the past three and a half decades, Mr. Kline has specialized in the handling of civil litigation matters and has practiced in courts throughout the West. He has handled a wide variety of cases dealing with labor and employment, professional licensing, personal injury, insurance, and business issues. Mr. Kline has extensive litigation experience and has tried approximately fifty jury trials, fifty bench trials and approximately twenty-five cases to resolution before administrative bodies. Mr. Kline has handled hundreds of disciplinary matters on behalf of clients with issues before the Wyoming State Bar, the Wyoming Board of Medicine, the Wyoming Board of Nursing, and other licensing boards which have been resolved prior to hearing.  Mr. Kline is licensed to practice law in Wyoming, the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, the United States District Court for the District of Utah, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Kline is a past president and a present board member of the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association, and he is a former Delegate to the Association for the Administration of Justice.   He is also a former president of the Wyoming Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and Wyoming Representative to the National Board of ABOTA, an honorary group of plaintiffs and defense lawyers dedicated to the preservation of the right to trial by jury.  Since 2011, he has been a guest teacher at the University of Wyoming College of Law Summer Trial Institute and regularly speaks before legal and other professional groups on developing issues in the law.
Mr. Kline is also very active in his community.  He is a past President and present member of the Friends of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens foundation, a past Board member of the Cheyenne Rotary Club and a member of numerous other local boards and non-profit organizations.
