Bio

Timothy R. O’Reilly practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, including complex business disputes and catastrophic personal injury matters, as well as various transactional matters including, but not limited to, business and real estate transactions, gaming law, and regulatory matters. With this broad range of experience, Tim is a strong and aggressive advocate for his clients, when necessary, through the litigation process. This experience has proven successful in extensive motions practice as well as the jury and bench trials in which Tim has been an active participant. Tim provides legal advice and representation for selected criminal matters as well as for various administrative law proceedings throughout the State of Nevada including representation of professional athletes in various capacities. In addition, he serves as a Mentor in the State Bar of Nevada’s Transitioning into Practice (TIP) Program, sharing his experience, wisdom and guidance with newly-admitted attorneys. Tim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1999. In 2001, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law. While attending law school, Tim completed a clerkship in the DUI Division of the Clark County District Attorney’s Office where he assisted in preparation for and attendance at grand jury hearings. He also completed judicial externships for Chief Justice William A. Maupin of the Nevada Supreme Court in Carson City and Chief Judge Lee Gates of the Clark County District Court in Las Vegas. Prior to joining O’Reilly Law Group, Tim worked for the Clark County District Attorney Criminal Appeals Division where he provided responsive briefs pertaining to pending criminal appeals to Clark County District Court, Nevada Supreme Court, and United States Supreme Court. In addition, he worked for the Nevada Attorney General at the Department of Transportation (NDOT) where he assisted the Litigation Department in pending eminent domain and condemnation matters. Tim is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Nevada, the State Bar of California and the Clark County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit; the U.S. District Court, District of Nevada; The Supreme Court of Nevada; all Nevada State and Local Courts; The Supreme Court of California; and all California State and Local Courts. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice (formerly American Trial Lawyers Association), the Nevada Justice Association, the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, and The National Trial Lawyers Association. Tim is involved in the Southern Nevada community and participates in professional activities such as serving as President of the UNLV Rebel Football Foundation, as a member of the UNLV Alumni Association’s UNLVIP program, and as a member of the Executive Committee of ESPN’s Las Vegas Bowl. He is a graduate of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Leadership Las Vegas program and coaches Youth Little League and Basketball. He also served as a member of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Vegas Young Professionals, the Henderson Chamber of Commerce’s Henderson Development Association, and the Board of Directors of Easter Seals of Southern Nevada. Tim also represented clients in the official Major League Baseball Draft while serving as a State of Nevada Registered Athlete’s Agent. Tim O’Reilly has been recognized in America’s Top 100 Attorneys, Nevada Business Magazine’s Legal Elite of Southern Nevada’s Top Attorneys, The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers, The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, and as a Thomson Reuters SuperLawyers Mountain States Rising Star. Other honors and recognition include UNLV Football Scholar Athlete of the Year, UNLV Football Team Leading Scorer, Burger King’s National Scholar Athlete of the Week, and the Western Athletic Conference’s All Conference Academic Team. Tim is married to his wife Tamara and they live in Las Vegas with their four children.
