David Skeens is a shareholder with Walters Renwick Richards Skeens & Vaughan, P.C., a Kansas City based firm. David’s trial practice concentrates on personal injury, consumer class actions and commercial matters. During his 30 year career, David has handled cases in federal and state courts throughout the U.S. and has obtained numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients. Those results include a $10.25 million dollar wrongful death verdict in Orange County, California against an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility and over $650 million in settlements and verdicts against predatory second mortgage lenders. David has also successfully defended businesses facing multi-million dollar claims. David is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the ABA, The Missouri Bar, Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers, Kansas Bar and Kansas Trial Lawyers Association. Locally, David serves on the board of directors of Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and is a past president of its charitable arm, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation. David is a life-long resident of Kansas City, an alumni and ardent supporter of the University of Missouri and an Eagle Scout.
