Bio

Jack Jenks was raised on the family farm in north-central Montana and attended the University of Montana, graduating with a degree in Finance in 1989.  He graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 1993 and entered private practice.  During law school, he was the recipient of the Norman Hanson legal writing award for appellate writing.  Jack is admitted to practice in Montana State and Federal Courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and several Montana Tribal Courts. He is a member of the State Bar of Montana, the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers’ Association, and the Montana Land Title Association.

Jack’s practice is primarily focused on insurance defense, real estate and title insurance matters, commercial transactions and construction matters.  He also provides estate planning services along with handling probate and trust matters.

Jack’s article on insurance bad faith was published in the Montana Law Review: “Picking Up The Pieces: The Excess Insurer’s Bad Faith Cause of Action Against the Primary Insurer,” Montana Law Review, Vol. 54, Pg. 385 (1993).  A selection of his reported cases includes:  Knudsen v. Ereaux, 911 P.2d 835, 275 Mont. 146 (1996); Wiley v. Iversen, 985 P.2d 1176, 295 Mont. 511 (1999); Peterson v. Eichhorn, 189 P.3d 615, 344 Mont. 540 (2008); State v. Butte-Silver Bow County, 220 P.3d 1115, 353 Mont. 497 (2009).
