Bio

D. Todd Mathews graduated from Nova Southeastern University School of Law in 1996. He is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Illinois, Florida and Washington, D.C.  He is admitted to U.S. District Court Northern District of Illinois, U.S. District Court Central District of Illinois, U.S. District Court Western District of Missouri, U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida, U.S. District Court Eastern District of Missouri, U.S. District Court Southern District of Illinois, U.S. District Court of Washington D.C., U.S. Court of Appeals 7th Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals 8th Circuit.

Mr. Mathews is a member of National Trial Lawyers Association, Madison County Bar Association, Missouri Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Committee, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, Member, American Association for Justice, American Association for Justice Leaders Forum, National Asbestos Mesothelioma Trial Lawyers, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, American Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Mathews currently serves on the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committees for the Atrium Hernia Mesh Litigation MDL (NH), and the Smith and Nephew Hips MDL (MD).  He serves on the Leadership Committees of the Bard Hernia Mesh Coordinated Cases (RI State Court), Draft Kings/Fan Dual MDL (MA), Talcum Powder Ovarian Cancer MDL (NJ), Mirena PTC MDL (NY) and Taxotere MDL (LA).  Mr. Mathews has served on numerous other Leadership Committees in the past including, Actos Coordinated Cases (IL State Court), Eliquis (MDL (NY) and as lead counsel on the Granuflo Litigation in St. Louis City.

Todd is a frequent speaker at law symposiums around the country and internationally.  He recently co-chaired the 3M Combat Ear Plug Symposium in Miami, FL.  In 2017 Mr. Mathews was asked to participate in a Mock Trial Presentation at the Perrin Asbestos Conference in San Francisco, specifically related to the use of Johnson & Johnson’s Talcum Powder and Cancer.  Mr. Mathews has also organized and participated in numerous counsel meetings and conferences, comprising hundreds of law firms in venues across the country. These have been designed to facilitate consensus for leadership roles, consider organizational structures and promote coordinated litigation efforts.  Todd has also been recognized by the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers as one of their representatives to the Board of Governors for American Association of Justice (AAJ).

Mr. Mathews has secured numerous trial verdicts and individual settlements in excess of $3,000,000.00.  Mr. Mathews has settled one of the largest train crossing cases in the State of Illinois.  Additionally, he has participated in the resolution of numerous Mass Tort actions.
